Why Gamify Fitness?
In the world of video games, gamification has been used for years to get people to engage and play the game more. In more recent years, many apps use gamification methods to get you to login daily and complete tasks like: reading articles, learning a language, completing a challenge and much more. It is a proven method to get people to be consistent and work towards a goal.
On video games and in apps, the reward usually consists of bonus points, extra content or ‘skins’ for your online avatar. A skin is a costume for your online character that shows you and others what level you are and what challenges you have completed. This works as a reward that you can show-off to others online.
Having seen the effect and motivation that this can have in the online world, we wanted to work out a way we can take this model and bring it to the real world.
Currently you can get t-shirts for taking part in marathons, weightlifting competitions or other sporting events. These are a great way of showing that you took part in a competition and you will always see people wearing them to the gym. However, there is no clothing range rewarding the everyday gym-goer who is not entering bigger fitness events.
This is where Gamified Fitness comes in; a brand aimed at incentivising you to work to your fitness goals and rewarding you for getting there.
The Gamified Fitness range launches on 1st January 2024 with the ‘Never Skip Leg Day’ range that is aimed at the squat movement. The levels for men are Bronze: 70kg, silver: 130kg and gold: 220kg. For women, bronze: 30kg, silver: 70kg and gold: 120kg.
